Do you use StatCounter to keep track of your web site visitors? If so, and if you have a bunch of StatCounter Projects that are old and inactive but “great ideas” (and building age), here is a GreaseMonkey Script that will hide the less active projects in the list. StatCounter Dead Project Filter uses GreaseMonkey to hide all projects that do not have enough hits, according to thresholds that you can easily configure. Now I have over 50 Projects filtered down to about 20 Active Projects that I’m more interested in.

The StatCounter Dead Project Filter should soon be listed at UserScripts.org, I just registered and this is my first script. Until then…

Usage

The code is well commented and has embedded instructions. The script hides projects that do not have enough hits to pass a configurable threshold. To adjust the thresholds, follow the embedded guide and edit the threshold variables.

Goals

  • Instead of removing rows, lets just hide them (display:none)
  • Add button and functions to turn display on and off
  • Add sorting by most hits
  • Add more sorting features

  • add exceptions to always show some projects
  • add onscreen switch for changing settings
  • clean up and optimize code, use oop
